“By unfolding the boy's mind as God created him, on a 50,000 acre working cattle ranch, located in the northwest corner of Wyoming near Yellowstone National Park.”

code-of-the-westTriangle Cross Boys Ranch (TCBR) is a therapeutic, authentic, 50,000 acre working Wyoming cattle ranch for troubled teen boys, ages 12-18. Triangle Cross Boys Ranch offers a solution to families dealing with the negative influences in their son’s environment by promoting a cultural change in a location that is far removed from the temptations of drugs, alcohol, sex and peer pressure. We are owned and operated by a Catholic family that uses both Christian ideals and the cowboy “Code of the West” to lead struggling teens to find value in honesty, integrity, simplicity, and determination.

The cowboy lifestyle the boys of TCBR experience requires them to conduct themselves as men who are able to confront the challenges of each day without excuses or evasions. In this rugged environment, we are able to satisfy the risk-seeking behavior that many troubled teens exhibit by allowing them to exhaust this raw and natural drive in a productive manner. We believe that our ranch activities will build a sense of dignity and esteem within your son, while also developing many valuable life and job skills that other youth programs do not offer.

Our trained Staff will guide your son through a process of self-discovery that will expose his unique strengths and virtues. In order to see a change occur within each struggling boy, our approach comes from a belief that our mentors must get each boy to love them, and they do so by loving each boy first. We believe that our ability to absorb the wounds and pains of the boys who are placed in our program is balanced by our ability to enforce a rigorous discipline based on realistic expectations of each child.

Triangle Cross Boys Ranch will also develop and implement an “Individualized Service Plan” for your son from our extensive service menu. These treatment plans are reviewed every 90 days to assure that our program is offering the highest standards of service and that its effectiveness is matched to the needs of your son. From “cowboy” horsemanship training to welding, mechanics, and heavy equipment operation, our program is successful in strengthening the body, educating the mind, and elevating the spirit of our youths.

TCBR also offers a strong academic and vo-tech curriculum that allows our boys to receive high school credits for the farm and ranch work they perform while in our program. By placing each student in a home-study course through an accredited educational institution, we are able to work one on one with each child to make sure that his academic progress continues while at our ranch. The unique educational program we offer is effective for the needs of both traditional students and those who have learning disabilities or a history of being disruptive in the classroom.

We believe that every boy who comes to Triangle Cross Ranch is intrinsically good and capable of receiving the help to better their lives!

Program History

Triangle Cross Ranch is owned by Jerry Schneider, the founder of Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch, who has over 23 years of experience in helping struggling teenage boys reform their lives. By using Jerry’s unique mentoring philosophies in a farm and ranch environment, Triangle Cross Ranch will instill in your son the traditional ethics and values upheld in our “cowboy culture.” In fact, our predecessor program, Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch, was featured in the film The Code of the West: Alive and Well in Wyoming,* where the inherent therapeutic value of the cowboy lifestyle is explained and celebrated.

Recovery-Oriented Substance Abuse Program

Triangle Cross Boy’s Ranch has helped many young men with substance abuse disorders achieve a long-term and sustained sobriety. As an active member of NAADAC, our treatment approach for teens struggling with drug and alcohol addictions is based on the latest trends emerging in the addictions profession. We collaborate with a team of counselors, teachers, parents, and students to develop a ROSC (recovery-oriented service of care) that promotes long-term remission from drug and alcohol usage. In addition to initiating sobriety in a drug and alcohol free facility, we focus on many other aspects of our students’ lives that will help them become resilient and able to abstain from substance use when they return to their previous environment. We are able to promote academic achievement, develop many job and vocational skills, nurture spiritual growth, and facilitate a mutual healing between each student and their families.

We offer a varied service menu to ensure the sustained recovery of your child, including a peer-support group, a recovery coach, and an optional aftercare program tailored specifically to your child’s needs.
